Time to start getting serious!
Anyone that knows me knows that I am power mad, I spend my life driving and tuning all sorts of cars from 150bhp to 1000bhp monsters so getting the same rush of excitement and power can be very hard to come by. Whilst the GT86 is fantastic with only 200hp the chassis is so well balanced and it makes it a very fun car to drive I'm an idiot and I like power, if the car doesn't feel dangerous it is not for me!
I've driven a couple of these on the road with 350-400bhp that we have built and they are absolutely amazing, easily breaking traction in any gear and a nice rush of torque! This is what I need!
The problem is.... I still use the car every day and I don't want the accelerated wear and noise associated with forged pistons, I still want to be able to hop in it on a cold morning and drive off to work like its a normal car. Well for that you want stock pistons! We know the stock pistons are capable as Adrian has already made 421bhp on an entirely stock motor for a short time in his race car but the conrods suck, the stock rods are very weak and you have to be very careful with the tuning to not bend the conrods. So lets just change the conrods? Well things aren't that simple as the stock piston has a wedge shape around the gudgeon pin so a regular forged conrod will not just drop into the piston, we need to get one machined.

He has machined a wedge into a set of lovely Manley Turbo Tuff Conrods for me to use on the stock pistons
Combined with slightly opening up the ring gaps so they don't butt under higher pressures and temperatures I am confident this package can hold 500bhp meaning we can offer this to customers as a prebuilt package or a drive in drive out service for a cheaper more problem free setup to handle 400bhp+ on a regularly road driven gt86!
